Advanced Cardiac Life Support - CertificationThis course provides nurses and other clinicians involved in the care of critically ill patients with the basic knowledge of drug regimes and treatment modalities in life-threatening scenarios such as airway emergencies, cardiac arrest, unstable ventricular tachycardia and other cardiac and pulmonary emergencies. Participants will complete a variety of teaching and testing stations, as well as complete a written test and a supervised clinical simulation of roles in an arrest situation. Basic knowledge of cardiac rhythms and their treatment modalities is a pre-requisite for this course. Attendance is required at all sessions. The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in BLS, ACLS, and PALS and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in any educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the American Heart Association.
